Buku is Back!

After 8 months of studying music with the Griots in West Africa, Jonah Tobias has returned to New Orleans with a brand new Kora- Thirty One strings, two bridges, components from five countries spanning 3 continents- this first of it's kind Chromatic Bass Kora is a truly international fusion!  But the expansion of the Buku's sound is about more than just an upgraded instrument.

Joining Buku Broux from Columbus Ohio, Newest member Adrian Jusdanis brings his visionary violin stylings into the mix. Classical training meets Hip-hop sensibilities and a hypnotic array of effect pedals and looping! Adrian combines soaring violin melodies with deep bass grooves and a rhythmic complexity that brings the Broux to a whole 'nother level of hype.

Come see the new and expanded Buku Broux, weekly Saturdays nights at Marigny Brasserie on Frenchmen and every Sunday, 4-7pm at Bacchanal. More dates to be announced on this website and the facebook group.
